Yes, we finally did it - bought two kayaks recently and my new love is kayaking down the river. Although it is becoming more and more difficult to find quiet time on the river these days; this morning was about the best thing to being alone.
No wind. Just the right temperature and some purplish clouds in the distance. The only sound was that of water against the paddle. Or, nothing but birds as we drifted along the shoreline of the large island in front of our house.
We can launch from the front yard by the big old cottonwood tree. There's some portage, but it wasn't too bad.
I skipped Sunday services again to take advantage of one of the finest days this summer. As you know school begins real soon and well... you know what comes shortly thereafter.
My parents shared some beets and turnips from their CSA. I put up about four or five servings of beets. We should be able to Eat Well this winter with the bounty of this beautiful summer.
Here I am enjoying some time off my regular weekend chores.
Bon Voyage...
By the way this one was taken by and titled Suekayakawea by JC who is the most creative guy I know...
