Deep blue skies

It rained. I'm not sure how much, but it's still blue out there this morning and calm, very calm.
The temperature is not too high as we have hit the midway mark in the month. School will be starting and people are thinking of using up the rest of their vacation.
We need some rain. My garden is looking pretty good. Last night we had the ultimate local foods supper.
Beets and potatoes were in the ground just hours before they were served. The chicken came from the colonies. The cucumbers were fresh picked, the flour for the biscuits was milled in North Dakota and the chokecherry jelly came from one of my aunts. It was a blessed evening. In fact the whole day was one of good things.
Maybe because it was filled with dreams and friends and future.
Hope for the future.
