IS THE THRILL THAT WILL GET YOU
WHEN YOU GET YOUR PICTURE
ON THE COVER OF THE ROLLING STONE
My magazine came in the mail yesterday. Wow, what a feeling... to see your design on the cover of Interweave Crochet magazine. It may not be the world's greatest accomplishment, but to me it was significant.
I have been designing all my life. It is a daily routine to dream of things to make. That's what makes working a job so difficult. There are always two or more things going on beneath the surface all day long. Of course, the older I get... never mind. The ideas are there, just can't get them out as fast as I used to when I was home with the children all day long.
So imagine my surprise when I sent a pattern and sample to the folks at Interweave and they selected my pattern for publication. Not only that, but they paid me for it also. Does that move me into the professional realm...
Then, I waited. It takes a long time to get those magazines just perfect. I waited and I waited and yesterday the magazine came and sure enough. There was my scarf on the model on the cover of the magazine. There's also a really nice shot on two pages. I'm so thrilled I had to share the feeling with you all. And, of course it's a thrill I've never known, but can only compare to thrill you will get, when you get your picture on the cover of the Rolling Stone.
Just call crochet magazines the Rolling Stone of the vintage set.
Well, maybe that won't work because I imagine the vintage set is the demographic that reads the Rolling Stone... lol.
So, now that I have my copy, I imagine copies are available around town. If not... some selfless promotion going on here -- the link to the company's site.

I was going to try again, but work got in the way. Needless to say, I'm excited at the possibility of designing more patterns. Especially since I have a baby on the way. Hmmmm. Babies need cute booties and hats.
