Sunrise in June is beautiful. Lately it has only lasted a few minutes, then it hits the clouds and its all over. Today, the sun is out, the clouds are sparse and it is a beautiful morning. I planted morning glories this year. As a child remember walking by morning glories wrapped around a clothesline poll on the way to school. I ate the blooms, even though I don't think they fall under the edible flower variety. They were so soft and delicate, fascinating to me. I finally got around to planting some of my own. In addition I planted some moon flowers.
Moonflower (
Ipomea alba) is a popular fragrant variety of morning glories which opens in the evening with a sweet fragrance and last through the night until touched by the morning Sun.
Here is one of Lola's irises. You can see the video of the entire garden we built around her bulbs on you tube. Or just catch my other blog -

At the top of this page is a one of the morning glory blossoms. I love to watch these blooms open and close - so I thought I would share a photo. They are climbing the posts where the birds have taken up residence in our houses.
