Easter's coming

I was born on a Good Friday. That means that Easter moves around my birthday like a bunny sometimes landing on it exactly. Not that it changes anything about my birthday celebration. Or Easter for that matter. This year, Easter has snuck up on me. I have not prepared myself in the usual way, including Lenten Church services on Wednesday evenings. This winter has been snowy and it makes driving home from Bismarck in the dark on slick roads a challenge that I'm not up to. Then, there's school work. I'm typing away on a portfolio as fast as I can. I can put words to paper with the best of them. I hope it will e convincing enough to garner enough credit to graduate. I'll be thankful when that has happened. I long to get on to gardening. So, I must plant some heirloom tomato seeds this week. They were a bit behind last year and so I could only use the green ones for salsa.
It's beautiful out this morning. I love this type of snow. Wet and sticky. The branches are frosted and the trees lining the river are grayed by mist. North Dakota is a bizarre place to live. We have the best of every climate here... and again today, I hear my garlic underneath the snow - stirring as the soil thaws and warms....
