My intial focus on this blog was cooking. For those of you who know me, I am easily distracted. So this may have veared off once or twice. LOL.
However, in the move between the studio and the office, I recently found a booklet that is yellowed and crisp with age, unlike me who has grown white and soft with age, full of household tips to survive in tough economic times. The first copyright 1947. It's delightful and I would like to share some of these tips with you beginning today.
SAVE STEPS IN THE KITCHEN
Who wouldn't want to make cooking easier? Especially now when we are all working full-time jobs and have so many extra curricular activities.
So, you can save steps in the kitchen by arranging food and utensils at "points of first use." Flour, sugar and spices should be near mixing center; potatoes, onions and other frequently used foods near the sink; pots and pans near the stove; stationary working surfaces should be near the sink, stove and refrigerater, etc. etc.
A properly planned kitchen complements the homemaker and a grat energy and time saver.
Wouldn't you agree?
Post your comments so I know you are out there....
