My Friend Ken

My friend Ken LaMont will feel the pain of cancer no more - and I am deeply saddened at his passing inevitable as it was.
The last time we met was at Cap on Collins very early one morning. I was so happy to see him. He gave me a hug and he looked so happy and healthy I can't believe he is gone. I will spend a little time this weekend looking for all the photos I took while he was Mandan's Mayor. I never told him this but I would pray at city commission meetings for him and the board. I prayed all the time we were fighting the cabaret ordinance battle.
Someone told me once that Ken and I were Mandan's best cheerleaders; and now Mandan must go on without his positive give everyone a chance attitude. That "Hi neighbor, what  can we do for you" way of greeting people at the podium at city hall used to drive a certain Tribune reporter crazy, I just laughed and said "that's the way we do things in Mandan."
Bye Ken, I love you!
PS: Give George Marback a greeting from us all when you see him in heaven.
