Where has all the time gone?

Flipping through memory lane today after recieving a negative scanner that works really slick except for the fact that the old black and white negatives are larger than yesterday's 35 mm.. however, I have tons of negs I would like to have scanned and this will be a fun and tedious project. So, to test the waters I scanned this photo of the first day of school - yep had to have been about 1995 or 96. The photos not that great, but the kids look happy to be going to school. And, now here they are grown ups married and getting married.
It's such a joy to see them get on with their lives, and yet, I'm so very sad thinking about how quickly the time passed by.
Going even farther back, there's some photos on my Shutterfly site around the time we moved to Gackle. Boy, do I look dated... oh well. There's some even older black and whites from Fredonia when my twin brothers were first born.
I saw my grandparents and an old friend of my mom's Gladys Wittmeyer (now Geyser). Oh, what I wouldn't give to go back and fly through those days again. Of course, I want to know what I know now so I can truly appreciate my life.
Here we are again on the cusp of a new year. 2010. Do you remember talking about the year 2000 in the 70s? I never expected to reach the year 2000 or even 1984 when Big Brother was supposed to take over our lives. Well, it took a little longer than expected, but he has - hasn't he? Someone could be monitoring this post as you read it. Too bad we are such trivial players in the scope of things, like I don't want to count... I just want to live freely.
Which reminds me. If you missed today's sunrise, you missed the greatest spectacle I've witnessed in a long time. So here is a photo of the sunrise, in case you missed it and a photo of the children going to school - ohhh, what memories.
