Kayaking

It was awesome, we traveled up stream as far as we could without wilting... When we arrived at the shore line for a break we discovered a fire ring with some twigs and paper in it. Last week we found a lighter on the beach which I stored in my waterproof thingy at the front of the boat. We had a wee bit of a fire while we ate our picnic lunch. Then we floated downstream.
There were tiny purple flowers blooming along the bank, herons over head and a rare scare by the Eagle Couple living along the river near our house. They flew right over our heads. Very cool.
We couldn't listen to the birds for most of the trip up the river. Seems like people with jet skis can't hear over the sound of their engines roaring... the also think we care about how many cookies they can do in the water before getting dizzy and stopping, only to go the other way. I think the river should have a quiet zone - No motors before 4 p.m. and then done at 6 p.m. We found a family canoeing down stream - no noise. Just quiet. We are blessed to have those moments out here.
