My brother used to tell us that. Lately, or in the past few years, it's been constant grinding and grating between the Republicans and the Democrats. I have always maintained this state is too small to be separated by party lines and I'm tire of the complaining. Let's work to get something done for once. Oh wait, I guess we won't be able to decide what that is.
So let me throw this at ya...
I'm reading a book written by Harri Haamer. It's not a big book, or a popular book, but rather a diary of a man who was imprisoned by the Soviet government in the 1940s. He was a pastor in Tartu, Estonia and the book is called We Shall Live in Heaven. Which, is not to be confused with We'll Meet Agaiin in Heaven by Ron Vossler. They are similiar and the Germans from Russia used to sign all their letters with that salutation.
In addition to be wrongly imprisoned, Haamer tells about the treatment of the prisoners and the living conditions and it's awful.
So it made me think about what my brother always said about living in this country and paying taxes. It's a privilege and we should be grateful the government won't be breaking down our doors and breaking up our famlies for reasons unknown. We should band together and pray for our leaders that they would make sound decisions and for crying out loud folks, please listen to the debates, prepare yourselves, and get out and vote.
